HOLY TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH MISSION COMMITTEE MEETING

                                              August 12, 2007

The Mission Committee of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church met at 8:30 a.m. on August 12 in the Parish Hall.  Members present were the Reverend David Lemburg, Warden Celeste Ramirez, Larry Coleman, GiGi Smith, Marilyn Vockroth, Ella Tardy, and Mary Weems.

Father David reviewed the minutes of the July meeting.

Ella presented the monthly financial statement.  She reported that the insurance company had reimbursed  $909 to cover expenses for removal of the tree on the rental property.  She also reported that the plate offering and pledges were up for the previous month.  The insurance payment and the pledge to the diocese are due to be paid this month.  Miscellaneous disbursements for the past month included curtains and a monitor for the vicar's office.

Father David discussed the possibility of having a workshop to provide information concerning funeral planning.  Discussions could include Episcopal Church traditions versus local customs.  The workshop would guide and assist families in making decisions regarding specific plans so that they might avoid confusion and disagreement among the family members at a difficult time.

Father David reported that he had received a number of solicitation calls since the telephone line has been installed.  He asked if we had caller id, since the numbers were not appearing on the handset.  He will check records to see if it is included in the service.

The Bishop's visit has been moved up a week to June 1, 2008.

Celeste reported that she had not heard from the realtor concerning the sale of the rental property.

After discussion among those present, it was decided that Father David will select an alternate wine for communion when all of the present supply is used.

It was discussed that everyone was pleased with having Reverend Deaton on the fourth Sunday each month.  We will continue with Morning Prayer on months with a fifth Sunday.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 a.m.
